The film was shot by Ukrainian-Armenian director Sergei Parajanov. The film tells about the life of the Hutsuls (Ukrainian ethnic group). You can find a detailed description of the film on the Internet. For me, this became a story about what a persistent past can do to a person. When in moments of weakness I succumb to nostalgia, I immediately remember this film. Memories of the past destroyed the life of the main character.

You have to let go of all the bad things that happened and continue to live. It’s an obvious thought, but the plot, acting and incredibly beautiful shots tell the banal truth in a new way.

Of course, the film should be watched in the original (Ukrainian) with subtitles. You need to hear the melodiousness of the Ukrainian language and how much it caresses the ear.
